To create a high-quality mushroom tincture, manufacturers use a dual-extraction process. Fungi have rigid cell walls made of chitin (the same material found in crab shells) which humans cannot easily digest. To extract all beneficial compounds, the mushrooms are first soaked in high-proof alcohol for several weeks to draw out alcohol-soluble compounds (like triterpenoids and hericenones). The same mushroom biomass is then boiled in hot water to extract water-soluble compounds (like beta-glucans). The liquid from both steps is combined, resulting in a shelf-stable fluid with a high concentration of bioavailable nutrients.

For functional wellness tinctures, a standard dose is usually 1 to 2 full droppers (approximately 1ml to 2ml) taken once or twice daily.
Concentrated water-soluble beta-glucans (for immune support) and alcohol-soluble triterpenes or alkaloids (for brain health or systemic balance).
