Medicinal Mushrooms
Golden Teachers are medium-to-large magic mushrooms, recognizable by their distinct, wide golden-brown caps, hollow, yellowish stems, and a moderate purple-brown spore print, and are frequently used as the baseline standard in psilocybin research.
First appearing in the mycological community during the late 1980s, Golden Teachers are the quintessential representation of Psilocybe cubensis. They feature an elegant, umbrella-shaped cap that spans 2 to 5 centimeters, sporting a rich caramel or golden-honey hue that lightens toward the edges. The stems are hollow, fibrous, and slightly thicker at the base, often retaining a delicate ring (annulus) left behind by the veil drop. When handled or bruised, the tissue oxidizes to a steady blue-green color. Unlike highly mutated strains (such as Makilla Gorilla), Golden Teachers maintain a balanced ratio of psilocybin to psilocin, making their biochemical profile highly predictable and stable across different flushes.
These notes describe traditional and culinary use. They are not medical claims, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
Because its potency is considered the "gold standard" baseline for Psilocybe cubensis, researchers use it to calibrate microdosing protocols (0.1g–0.3g dried) and macro-therapeutic doses (1.5g–3.5g dried).
Store dry and sealed. Because it keeps very well when protected from humidity.
