About Wylspores
A small company, deliberately. It is the only way we can know every batch we sell.
It Started With Curiosity
Wylspores began the way most of these things do: with someone kneeling in wet leaves, turning over a log and wondering what on earth they were looking at.
That curiosity turned into a habit, the habit turned into growing, and the growing turned into a small business built around a simple frustration. Too much of what was sold as premium mushroom product was neither. Powders bulked out with grain. Extracts so dilute they may as well have been water. Labels that promised the world and declined to say what was actually in the jar.
We decided to do the opposite. Fewer products, described plainly, from sources we can name. If we cannot tell you where something came from, we do not sell it.
Honest Mushrooms, Honest Conversation
We want to be the people you can just ask. No funnel, no upsell, no urgency banner counting down to a discount that was never real.
That is why there are no prices on this website. Mushroom availability genuinely changes with each harvest, and the right quantity depends entirely on what you are doing with it. A chef ordering weekly and someone trying Reishi for the first time need very different answers.
So we talk instead. You build a selection, send it over, and we reply like a person. Sometimes that means telling you to order less than you planned.
Our Approach
Four commitments that decide what we stock and how we handle it.
Quality above volume
We buy small and inspect everything. A batch that arrives damp, dusty or thin gets sent back, however good the price was.
Respect for nature
Wild species are harvested sparingly and never stripped. Where cultivation gives a better, more consistent result, we cultivate.
Sustainability in practice
Low-temperature drying, minimal packaging, and no plastic where paper or glass will do the job just as well.
A real relationship
Every order passes through a conversation. It is slower than a checkout button, and it is the whole point.
What “Premium” Actually Means Here
It is an overused word, so here is exactly what we mean by it.
-
Fruiting body, not grain
Our powders are milled from the mushroom itself. Many products on the market are mycelium grown on grain and sold whole, which means you are largely buying starch.
-
Dried slowly, at low heat
Fast, hot drying is cheaper and it flattens aroma and texture. We dry gently so what arrives still smells and tastes like the mushroom it came from.
-
Milled in small batches
Powder loses character sitting in a warehouse. We mill closer to when it ships, in quantities we can actually move.
-
Nothing hidden in the jar
No fillers, flow agents or bulking starch. If a product contains more than one thing, the listing says so.
Start With One Thing
You do not need to commit to a routine or a bulk order. Pick the one mushroom you are most curious about and message us about it.
